Metal set, 12 small pans and 6 large pans + anniversary brush size 2 „125 years HORADAM“ in a high quality leather case with zipper! The anniversary brush is a so-called „French“ watercolour brush with pure blue Russian squirrel hair made by da Vinci.

In 1892 Josef Horadam, one of the founders of the artists’ colours company H. Schmincke & Co., received the first patents for watercolours. With this, Schmincke were at the forefront of watercolour painting’s increasing popularity. Since that time many artists, including famous artists like Emil Nolde or Oskar Kokoschka, used these colours in their artworks.
To this day the pouring of watercolours in liquid state practiced by Schmincke differs to production processes of other companies. Originally conceived as “button colours†and then later four times poured in liquid state in pans, the production of Horadam watercolours takes 3-5 months. From the very beginning all Horadam watercolours have been filled in pans as well as in tubes.
For 125 years the Horadam assortment is kept on the highest possible quality level, always based on newest technical developments. The Horadam watercolour boxes are composed following a special colouristic principle, considering aesthetic aspects as well as practical use.
